General Guidelines

Adwaita Mission Law College is committed to providing a disciplined, safe, and academically enriching environment for all students. Every student shall abide by the rules and regulations of the College, the University, and the Bar Council of India (BCI). Ignorance of these rules shall not be accepted as an excuse.

 Admission Rules

* Admission shall be granted strictly in accordance with the eligibility criteria prescribed by Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University (TMBU) and the Bar Council of India (BCI).

* Admission shall remain provisional until all original documents are verified by the College and the University.

* Students must submit all required certificates, photographs, identity documents, and prescribed fees within the stipulated time.

* Any false declaration or submission of forged documents shall result in cancellation of admission and appropriate legal action.

 Attendance

* Every student shall maintain a minimum attendance as prescribed by the Bar Council of India and the University from time to time.

* Attendance in lectures, tutorials, practical classes, moot courts, seminars, legal aid activities, and other academic programmes is compulsory.

* Students failing to satisfy the minimum attendance requirement may not be permitted to appear in semester examinations.

* Leave of absence shall be granted only in genuine circumstances with prior approval from the competent authority.

Discipline and Conduct

* Students shall maintain discipline, dignity, and decorum within and outside the campus.

* Respect towards teachers, staff members, fellow students, and visitors is mandatory.

* Any act of violence, intimidation, harassment, discrimination, or misconduct shall invite strict disciplinary action.

* Students shall always uphold the values of honesty, integrity, professionalism, and respect for the rule of law.

Dress Code

* Students shall attend classes in neat, clean, and decent attire suitable for a professional institution.

* Formal dress is compulsory during moot court competitions, seminars, legal aid camps, court visits, and official college functions.

* Students may be required to wear black and white professional attire during practical legal training and court-related activities.

Academic Conduct

* Students shall complete assignments, projects, presentations, internships, and practical work within the prescribed deadlines.

* Plagiarism, cheating, impersonation, or any form of academic dishonesty shall be treated as serious misconduct.

* Participation in moot courts, debates, seminars, workshops, and legal awareness programmes is highly encouraged.

Examination Rules

* Students must carry a valid College Identity Card and Admit Card during examinations.

* Use of unfair means, electronic gadgets, unauthorized materials, or communication during examinations is strictly prohibited.

* Examination rules prescribed by the University shall be binding on every student.

Library Rules

* The library shall remain a place of study and silence.

* Library books shall be issued according to the prescribed rules and returned within the due date.

* Damage or loss of library books shall attract replacement charges or penalties.

* Students shall maintain proper discipline and care while using library resources.

Computer Laboratory & Wi-Fi Usage

* Computer and internet facilities shall be used only for academic and research purposes.

* Unauthorized downloading, hacking, or misuse of digital resources is prohibited.

* Students shall not install software or alter system settings without permission.

Moot Court & Legal Aid Clinic

* Participation in Moot Court exercises and Legal Aid Clinic activities forms an essential component of legal education.

* Students shall actively participate in legal literacy programmes, legal awareness camps, client counselling, and community outreach initiatives.

* Professional ethics, confidentiality, and respectful conduct shall always be maintained.

Anti-Ragging Policy

* The College strictly prohibits ragging in any form.

* Any student found guilty of ragging shall be liable for disciplinary action as per the directions of the Supreme Court of India, the University Grants Commission (UGC), and other applicable regulations.

* Students are encouraged to immediately report any incident of ragging to the College authorities.

 Anti-Sexual Harassment

* The College maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards sexual harassment.

* Every student has the right to study in a safe, secure, and respectful environment.

* Complaints may be submitted to the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), and appropriate action shall be taken in accordance with applicable laws and institutional policies.

Use of Campus Facilities

* Students shall use classrooms, library, laboratories, hostel, transport, moot court hall, and other facilities responsibly.

* Damage to College property shall attract disciplinary action and recovery of repair costs.

* Cleanliness and proper maintenance of the campus shall be the responsibility of every student.

Identity Card

* Every student shall carry the College Identity Card while on campus.

* The Identity Card shall be produced whenever demanded by the College authorities.

* Loss of Identity Card shall be reported immediately, and a duplicate card shall be obtained after payment of the prescribed fee.

Hostel Rules

* Hostel residents shall strictly follow hostel regulations and maintain discipline.

* Visitors shall be permitted only during authorized visiting hours.

* Consumption of alcohol, drugs, smoking, gambling, and possession of prohibited substances is strictly forbidden.

* Hostel residents shall maintain cleanliness and respect the rights and privacy of fellow students.

Transport Rules

* Students using the College Bus Service shall maintain discipline while boarding, travelling, and alighting from the bus.

* Any damage caused to the vehicle or misconduct with staff shall attract disciplinary action.

Prohibited Activities

The following acts are strictly prohibited within the College campus :

* Ragging in any form.

* Smoking, consumption of alcohol, tobacco, narcotic drugs, or intoxicating substances.

* Carrying weapons or hazardous materials.

* Gambling or betting.

* Vandalism or damage to College property.

* Possession or circulation of obscene, offensive, or unlawful material.

* Discrimination based on religion, caste, gender, language, disability, or any other protected characteristic.

Disciplinary Action

Violation of College rules may result in one or more of the following actions :

* Warning or written reprimand.

* Fine or recovery of damages.

* Suspension from classes or hostel.

* Debarment from examinations or College activities.

* Cancellation of admission.

* Expulsion from the College.

* Any other action considered appropriate by the College authorities in accordance with University and statutory regulations.

General

* The Principal shall have the authority to interpret and enforce these Rules and Regulations.

* The College reserves the right to amend, modify, or update these Rules and Regulations in accordance with the guidelines of the Bar Council of India, Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University, and other statutory authorities.

* All students are expected to read, understand, and comply with these Rules and Regulations throughout their period of study.
